Federal inventories
The protected sites come from the national geodata infrastructure, published by the Federal Office for the Environment, swisstopo, the Federal Office of Culture and Pro Natura. Area, object number and perimeter are the official values.

The datasets come from the official catalogue of Swiss open government data.
Maps
National maps and perimeter renderings come from swisstopo. The interactive maps use OpenStreetMap.
Licences
Most of it is free to use with attribution. Where an office requires a request before commercial use, we link the dataset rather than copying it.
Currency
The catalogue is reconciled weekly, the inventories at each federal revision.
