Automated detection of invasive alien plants along highways

Transport infrastructure such as **highways** are important corridors for the spread of invasive species. In this project, an automated detection and mapping of **two invasive alien plant species** was developed and applied along highways in the **Swiss Central Plateau**, based on **artificial intelligence (AI, Deep Learning)**. The two target species are **tree of heaven *(Ailanthus altissima)*** and **narrow-leaved ragwort *(Senecio inaequidens)***. The data is part of the project report and shows the mapping results in **interactive maps**. Technically speaking, these are **self-contained HTML files** that can be displayed with standard web browsers.
