Priority programmes with customs

To ensure the safety of plant-based foods and commodities imported into Switzerland, the FSVO sets out a targeted priority programme every year. This consists of several campaigns in which the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security performs risk based sampling on certain product groups. These checks concern products both from the EU and from third countries. In principle they can be carried out on all import routes – i.e. at customs points for air, land and water traffic.
